Another family member?!

Meet Cooper.  7 year old male Sheltie.  He's neutered.  Housebroken.  Voice-trained.  All the works.  The best, most obedient dog ever.  He came from a home where the mom was a dog trainer.  We are I am so lucky to have an easy transition into being a dog owner.  We had a cocker spaniel when I was little (RIP Cassie), she bit me.  Josh has been asking for a dog for.... hmmm, our whole marriage!  What changed me?  Well... here's the story.
Friday afternoon Josh and I went on a date.  I picked up the baby-sitter and on the way back to our house there's a lady walking her cute dog so I say, "Oh, that's a cute dog."  Our baby-sitter, Abby, tells me she has a friend who's giving away her dog because they're moving.  She goes on to explain how awesome this dog is (as mentioned above)... I get this funny feeling.  I tell Abby to text me her friend's number.  Come to find out her friend is someone I already know of (from afar).  I call and talk to her (while Josh and I are driving on the way to the Galleria to do some shopping).  Josh is asking me all these questions and all I can think in the back of my mind is to tell him to relax, this is going to be a great dog!
A couple of hours later I call the dog-owner and say that we want to come meet him.  At first we decided that we could come meet Saturday morning.  But then I call her back and ask if we could come that night (Friday) after the kids go to bed, we thought it would be a fun surprise for the kids to wake up with a dog in the house.  Friday evening unfolds and we were just too busy and it got too late.  So Saturday morning it ended up being!!!  And the rest is history!!!  We love you, Cooper!

my blog is a scrapbook now.

How was your Valentine's Day?  We've been so fortunate to have Josh home a lot this month.  He's had 3 day weekends plus another day off during the week!  The days he does work he's home by 4!!!  Valentine's Day was a coincidental day off for Josh so we cleaned the house together, made a yummy chicken shish-ka-bob dinner with lemon fried rice, green salad with greek-vinaigrette and pita's.  Josh made desserts (couldn't decide on which to make, red velvet cake or cheesecake?) So Josh made both. (!)  I was in heaven.
Amelia got flowers from her dad.  What a nice guy.
Ruby's cuteness:

Look who figured out stairs!!!!  My life is so awesome now!!!!

Not the greatest picture... just documenting Ruby's new obsession with ANYTHING.  She puts whatever she can find on top of her head and back around her neck.  Like she's dressing herself.  So, Amelia's PJ bottoms work.  Necklaces work.  Scrap fabric works.  Toilet paper works.  Amelia's dirty pants with underwear still in them work.  Cracks me up!!!
Just jumping on the bed!

Pretty pictures.
