Here we go again...
Nesting: CHECK
I've made a list of things for me and the kids to do for the next 2 weeks, in order to pass the time until we see Josh again. Then he'll be home for a quick weekend (I think), gone for another 5-ish days, and then we're DONE with "away" rotations!!!
In the meantime, I've got story-times and baking-times and crafting-times and what-have-you to fill up that mean thing called time. I regress, time is a wonderful thing. Just don't expect me to fill you in on the good side of it.
32 weeks pregnant. I'm thinking induction at 39 weeks sounds lovely. I am all of the above, when it comes to the complaints of pregnancy. Onery, uncomfortable, tired. I wake up everytime I move when I'm sleeping- sharp pains in areas that only hurt when pregnant. The girl is a mover. I gave Josh a side-hug as he was leaving and Josh said, "She just kicked me!" I didn't even notice! I feel little foot-quivers as she stretches out. Those are my favorite. Josh and I watched Out of Africa last night. I cried. Not just a little cute teary face cry. Full-blown bawling. Ugly face happening. Hyperventilating. Then this morning when I woke up I felt like the world was coming down on me. Josh swore that I hated him. I didn't, of course, just another case of Ali being grumpy. A 2-hour nap fixed that. (Thankful for 1 o'clock church!)
small side note: since I am an open book: I had an eye check-up this week, turns out I've got petechial hemorrhaging. Google it. I'm dead, cause of death: asphyxiation. Ok, that's the extreme. Normally it's caused by high blood pressure... my blood pressure has been good and low this whole pregnancy (90 over 60). Anyway, I just like to draw attention to something bizarre going on. Probably caused by my awesome mothering skills. (Yeah, I yell a lot). It'll go away on it's own. Don't worry, Grandma Woodbury.
My lil' sis' is not getting married anymore, so I don't have to fret over missing her wedding.
Thanksgiving was AWESOME at Aunt Lisa and Uncle Duane's house. I did not take pictures, forgot the camera!!! Argh!!! Though I borrowed a camera and took like 5 pictures of my kids playing with my cousins.
Lisa and Duane once again let me and Josh take advantage of them. We left the kids at their house overnight. Josh and I went and saw a movie, then stayed at a hotel. Hotel+kids= miserable. I was a lazy sack of potatoes and contributed to Thanksgiving Dinner by buying an apple and a chocolate pie. Why have I not taken advantage of my Aunt and Uncle more often?!? haha, just kidding.
Our dinner was delicious, so delicious Josh gave me the eye and said, "Stop it, Woodbury." Inside joke. My family members are pretty vocal when food tastes good. My kids do it, too. (remember the post with the video of Amelia eating Bran Flakes?... Conrad hums as he eats, too. Hilarious.)
We loved our short visit with them. My aunt is just like my mom. I feel right at home there. C and A had a BLAST there. They were in heaven. Between all the stuffed animals, my cousin Katie entertaining the 4 and 2-year old demands, and my cousin Chad (the giant) letting the kids climb all over him... my kids came home with their kid-playing-time-needs met. I couldn't be happier for them! And a special thanks to Lisa and Alicia (Chad's wife) for taking care of my kids in the middle of the night!
Best be off, it's 12:30 am and I've got lots to do this week! :)

Good Morning Beautiful,
I had a good belly laugh over this. Thanks Amelia for making your early wake-up call not so bad!

Good Job Conrad!
Primary Program today.
Conrad in front of people= super painfully shy.
When we heard a few weeks ago that Conrad had a line to say, both Josh and I were thinking he probably wouldn't say his line, let alone go up on the stand.
We've been working with him on his line every night after dinner... "I can show my love for my Savior by following His example." He got it down this last week, no problemo.
Anyway, my heart was bursting today when he got up on the stand, smiled and sang through the songs, and then when it came time for his part he said it perfectly and clearly. OHHH it was so cute. Like I said, my heart was BURSTING. I cried a little. He was PERFECT!!!! I could go on. But I'll spare you the melting mom heart.
Way to go Rub-a-dub. Pfefferneuse. Mr. D. Sure do love you!

MRI today
Josh originally was supposed to have a follow-up appt. with his Dr., but both Josh and the Dr.'s schedules are too busy. Kind of sad, but at the same time, as long as Josh's MRI shows up clear and good they will just let us know over the phone.
If something shows up on the MRI then I'm sure Josh's preceptor will excuse Josh and that the Dr. will make an exception to meet with Josh.
We feel good about it coming back clear.

Friday and Saturday
The place Josh interviewed with provided the hotel, so we had to take advantage.
We had a nice time. The highlights for me were hearing about how our kids were doing! We had been on the road for less than an hour when we got a text message saying something to the effect, "Your son has informed us that he is no longer shy. He talked nonstop. We learned about batman, trucks, motorcycles, movies, and why not to fall in the toilet." I laughed about that one for a good long while.
Josh and I laughed our heads off over the usual silly things. I swear I saw a Donkey Zebra. It was rainy, though, so who knows what I saw. Josh spoke with his Scottish accent. Thanks to driving through Fort Scott. He gets inspired by who-knows-what.
Wichita: I learned that the place to live is on the outskirts of Wichita. Maize, KS. Maize translation: Corn. Ooh la la. Corn, Kansas sounds like a pretty fancy place to live!
My "interview" was Friday night. There was just a social where the spouses were invited to attend. We spoke with some very nice people. Everyone got 2 free drinks from the bar. I just kept my tickets in my pocket, I thought I'd save them and give them to the head interviewing person, but never got around to it. One guy obviously had too much to drink. He asked me, "Boy or girl?" Josh answered, "Uh, my wife's a girl." He was drunk as a skunk, kind of funny though.
Josh's interview was at 6:30 am Saturday morning! After his interview we went and had breakfast, this is significant to me only for the diabetes factor. Josh now calls me the 'Betes lady. So flattering. (sidenote: I've settled down since my meltdown post... all will be well, it could definitely be worse...! Hopefully I'll get that all figured out this week.) ANYWAY, Josh said he felt good about his interview. Though we won't find out until MATCH DAY- in MARCH. Josh has a handful more interviews so we'll see how it all goes.
We got back to my Aunt and Uncle's house a little after noon. When we walked in Conrad hid and said, "No! I don't want to go home with you!" Awesome. Awesome for my Aunt and Uncle and Katie. Sarcastically awesome for how we are as parents! The kids had so so so much fun. We are committed by Conrad for Thanksgiving Dinner at their house. The drive home and still at random times he asks us how soon it is until Thanksgiving! We have told him we go to church 2 more times, then it will be Thanksgiving. Today when we told him we were going to church he connected the dots and was super excited that it was getting closer to Thanksgiving.
Thank you Aunt Lisa, Uncle Duane and cute cousin Katie for making our weekend so super much better.

Failed (Just skip this blog post)
I failed my gestational diabetes test. I have to take another one (a longer version of the one I took today, with more blood sugar checks) sometime in the next week or two. I am just so upset with myself.
I may have had it with Amelia, too, but who knows, and that's in the past so it doesn't matter anymore. She was 9 lbs. 5 oz, that's the only clue I have that I may have had it. My glucose tolerance test with Amelia scored me at 115. (Normal blood sugar range is somewhere between 80 and 120, or 90 and 110, I don't know).
Today my score was 146. Not horrendous, but definitely worthy of another check. My brother Kim has juvenille diabetes. He has to take insulin injections multiple times a day. His blood sugar when he was first diagnosed was somewhere around 7 or 800. Craaaazzzzyyyyy. I have to keep telling myself that this is only for 2 1/2 more months, not for the rest of my life!
This might explain why I have been so short with my kids lately. And why I crave sugar to give me that "up" feeling. I've been feeling pretty crappy. Crummy. Sloth-like. Who am I kidding, though. I am a huge complainer.
I have so many more things I could say, but I won't because I am just temporarily in this state of mind. argh.

Video: Amelia's stinky feet
I didn't capture the true and canny disgust on the face of this little girl when she smelled her own feet. She knew she was on camera. Conrad's reaction is more accurate. It is hilarious when she makes the face.
She hates wearing socks. But her feet get sweaty! I am the same way (in the sweaty feet department, gross, I know). When my feet get hot I have to get them uncovered. She is a lot like me, instead of being warm-blooded she is hot-blooded (meaning she is always toasty warm).
We are having a lot of issues with shoes and socks still. Conrad's getting better, but Amelia's taking her shoes and socks off everywhere. For my friends that were around us at storytime today... soo sorry if you caught the stinky feet whiff. I promise, I'm working on it.

Things I am thankful for
I'm not doing this just because 'tis the season...
I'm doing this because 1. I really am thankful for certain things, and 2. It is good to count your blessings (aka. therapy :) )
1. So so so thankful Josh and I get to have another mini-vacay next weekend. Josh has an interview, they're paying for his hotel, and invited his wifey to come along. !!!!!!!! Guess who gets to play Grandma and Grandpa??!!? My Aunt Lisa and Uncle Duane! They live semi-close to where Josh is interviewing (it's kind of on the path to where the place is). Lisa and Duane are absolutely awesome and are/will be so happy to let us drop our kids on their doorstep. I am even more happy. This is a place Josh really likes a lot, so we hope he does great!!!
2. Thankful for my husband who let me be a putz today. I was not feeling so great. Pretty emotional. I hate being in a funk. He is awesome and ran after me when I apologized for being so awful today. He ran after me to let me know that he loves me and understands what I'm going through. He even said, "I know it's not your fault!" Ohh man, what a thing to recognize when it's opposite of what I've felt my whole life. Bring on the tears.
3. Thankful we got to spend good quality time together yesterday! Josh was home by 9 am, so I suggested we make a temple trip. 3 hour drive up to Omaha. We each took turns in the temple. I am so grateful for temples. I love the subtle whisperings of the spirit that teach me things I need to remember.
4. Even though I did not act like I was thankful for my kids today (sorry neighbors, if you heard me yelling)... man, I am so thankful for the joy they have brought into my life. Conrad was being sensitive to my feelings when I was not feeling so great. He would just come up and randomly hug me, snuggle me. He even gave me a kiss on my shin. :) I am thankful for some of the funny things Amelia would say. She's really started on some funny ones. I don't know where she learned this one, but she says, "stupid boys!" That's not so funny, but it's definitely gotten my attention. My favorite thing she says is her response to the question of why we shouldn't do something, for example, "Amelia, why shouldn't we put your socks and shoes on???" She'll say with a hushed voice and wide open eyes, "Because it's dangewous!"
5. I'm thankful for my testimony. On Facebook I am "attending" the "Bear your testimony on November 6th." Which means you just bear your testimony for others to read it. I am going to do it here, instead.
I know Heavenly Father watches over me, that He is happy when I make good choices, and sad when I don't. I know that He yearns for me to make good choices. Of course! Why would you want your child to make a bad choice? I know that He loves me so much that he sacrificed His son, Jesus Christ, so I can atone for my sins and enter back into His presence one day.
I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ came to a 14-year old boy, Joseph Smith, in order to restore this gospel back on the earth. Crazy as it sounds, I know it's true and what an awesome thing to have happen. It sounds crazy, and yet when I have prayed about it, I have felt a reassuring feeling, and it just makes sense. Of course Heavenly Father wanted a 14-year old boy to restore the gospel. It's just another test of our faith.
I know that we can all live with Heavenly Father again. I know that when Josh passes away I am sealed to him, and that all is not lost. I will get to be with him when I pass away as well. Forever. What a wonderful blessing. Josh is wonderful. I pray that I can always be worthy to receive that blessing.
I know that repentance is awesome. I have felt it's effects in my life. I have seen it in other people's lives. I know that when Jesus suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane he felt the pain I have felt. He knows what it feels like to hurt inside. He is there for me when I am suffering, and He has comforted my soul.
That is what I know.
And that is my thankful list.

side effects, rambling
So I went to bed at 8 pm.
I am feeling anxious. Impatient (more than the usual). And yet so tired. My mind is constantly reeling.
But I AM doing well.
I've managed to get going on some nesting projects. Sewing baby gifts (I am 1 year behind on baby presents!!!), sorting baby clothes.
I've decided to try to get Conrad rid of pull-ups for overnight wear. He does great--- as long as I can figure out the right time to set my alarm clock for in the middle of the night to get up with him to make him go potty. I've succeeded 3 nights, failed 3 nights. Today I find myself wanting to just go get more pull-ups. But man those things are a waste of money, unless your kid is NOT ready.
It's nice to have Josh around. He put the kids to bed last night for me. And finished the dinner preparations. I was having a mommy time-out. I went up to my bedroom and just chilled.
Gosh, I hate feeling anxious. I could say so many complaints right now... but I already have. :P
