It’s amazing how much life can change in 10 years. Today I was reflecting about what I was doing 10 years ago. 10 years ago I was gearing up for graduating from High School. I had a boyfriend. I had a 5 year plan. 10 years ago I was saying how 10 years from now felt like FOREVER away. In retrospect it feels like a short time ago.
My life has changed so much. And I’m filled with gratitude when I think about how my life has turned out.
I am so so lucky to have Josh as my husband. SO SO LUCKY. I am still surprised that he chose me to be his wife. He is always well spoken, well dressed. I am quite the opposite. He enjoys the finer things in life while I am happy with riff raff that coincidentally comes our way.
We are so blessed to have our 3 children. I can’t believe it sometimes. It feels like they’ve been in my life forever and that they just kind of magically appeared seamlessly.
Life around these parts is getting better. Ruby’s getting older (and almost done nursing, hooray). Would you believe me if I told you that Conrad and Amelia are best friends and that they play together ALL the time? It is awesome!!! I can take a shower and not have to turn on Dora or Sponge bob (feels like I’m swearing when I say that yellow rectangle man’s name!!). Amelia gets a little bit leachy while Conrad’s at preschool. She misses her best friend. And it’s funny when we pick up Conrad from school he’ll ask Amelia if she missed him and she always brushes him off, shrugs and says, “No.” Yesterday she even said after we dropped him off, “Conrad’s gone!!! Yay!” But whenever he’s gone or asleep she’s like a lost puppy looking for some attention!
I get bouts of homesickness, but then one of my kids needs something so I get busy and forget all about it! I’m so glad I got to go to Utah in November for Erin’s wedding. That was so great. I’ve been having stronger feelings about moving back to Utah when we’re done with Residency. I love being where we are, though. I love living where I’m a minority when it comes to my religion. I felt intimidated living in Utah. Like I had to compete with other members of the LDS faith about who was a better missionary. I crave the moment when I get to be a part of someone’s conversion. To see their countenance change and peace fill their hearts. I’ve been a horrible missionary though, I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m not really smart when it comes to stories from the bible or Book of Mormon. All I know is that when I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it I knew in my heart it was true. Simple. I saw my parent’s blessed because they obeyed certain commandments. My mom had to decide between paying a utility bill and paying tithing. Guess what? She paid tithing. She was blessed for doing so and was still able to pay the utility bill from some unexpected money received. “By small and simple means are great things brought to pass.” Mom, I’m so glad you raised me in a faith-filled home. Dad, I’m so glad we struggled and didn’t get everything we wanted. I am a more grateful person now for it.
Whew, wasn’t expecting to get spiritual and stuff. I’m just a lonely housewife who’s husband is working the night shift… so I have the internet to connect to. And now I need to get some sleep! What's a good post without some pictures, though, right?

| What? You don't eat green eggs for lunch? The kids think it's awesome. I put spinach in the blender with the eggs and voila! They've been requesting it a lot lately. Love it. |

| Tippy Toes all the time for this girl. |
 |
| Found on Pinterest a backrub shirt for daddy. Put a track on the back of the shirt for the kids to drive their cars on. Win-win! It was one of Josh's Christmas presents. Go me. |
 |
| New Year's. We set the alarm/timer on Josh's phone and rang in the New Year at 8:15 pm with the kids. (you do what you gotta do when you have church the next morning!!!) |
 |
| Ruby's hat stayed on long enough for Josh to move his hand away and me to take a picture. |

| Best friends. Good times. |
